What you should know about Waikato Diocesan School For Girls
In 1909, Mrs May Whitehorn established Sonning School in a small home in Milton Street, Hamilton. The school outgrew these premises also and land was purchased and a new school built on the eastern side of the railway bridge. The Waikato Board for Diocesan Schools, formed in 1927, leased Sonning School from Mrs Whitehorn and then, in 1929, bought property at the current site in River Road, Hamilton, New Zealand. Waikato Diocesan School was officially opened in 1928 with a roll of 13 boarders and 70 day girls.
The school has continued to grow and has had 11 principals, and now has a roll of around 650 students. Have you ever visited the Waikato Diocesan School Archives? Do you know where they are situated? Boarder families send their daughters to Waikato Diocesan for many reasons the boarding experience the all round education the particular character and, the family atmosphere. Therefore, House Girdles are now only presented once a year for Years 11, 12 and 13 students.
The two week tour held ample of highlights for everyone, some of the favorites being the fountain in Central Park, our architectural boat tour on the Hudson River, and the Top of the Rock. At Waikato Diocesan School, we value international education opportunities and we encourage our students to embrace the chance to experience living and learning in diverse countries. Waikato Diocesan School for Girls offers up to two packed fee Academic Scholarships for prospective Year 9 day students who display academic excellence and all round good character, but for financial reasons would otherwise not be able to attend the school. Boarding opportunities for girls are piece of the particular character of Waikato Diocesan School for Girls and boarding is embedded in the charter and vision for the school.

Waikato Diocesan is a Particular Character school where Anglican spirituality is central to how we worship and how we treat each other. ADMISSIONS We welcome your application to scrutinize at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls.
It has a record of distinguished academic victory as healthy as tall achievement in sports and the arts. Therefore, behind much discussion and review with staff and students, the way in which students receive affirmations will change starting Term 2. All Y11 13 boarding students, new and returning, must check into Junior or Senior boarding by 5. A number of the superior plays will be selected to be performed later in the year. Supporting the application can be evidence of community service or service to the Used Girls' Association. She runs night and weekend rehearsals, has adjudicated at school music events, accompanied students in their NCAA examinations, provided transportation to rehearsals and events, and has supported students and staff at almost every school arts event.
Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Years 9 13, with a roll of approximately 675 students. Staff at Di must be supportive of the school's Anglican exceptional character and willing to actively urge the extensive co curricular programmed
