Believe Waikato Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Musical Director Rupert D’Cruz, presents an all age friendly Christmas feasts for the ears. Trust Waikato enjoys collaborations with Hamilton based Cantando choir, as well as local and national soloists including Anna Hawkins, Bill Stone ham and Andrew Beer. Opus Orchestra was founded in 1991 and continues to offer outstanding orchestral experiences for both musicians and audience. Registration is essential, and a teachers load will be provided to schools earlier to the event. Opus Orchestra has presented considerable premiere performances of New Zealand works by rising and established composers. A highlight of the two year is the Sunset Symphony Concert as a segment of the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival which has around 400 attendees on the lawn’, as well as the Education Concert Series for school students in years 3 8. The Believe Waikato Symphony Orchestra can trace its roots back over 100 years, when the Waikato Orchestral Society’ was formed later in 1945, this became the Waikato Symphony Orchestra, and is thus one of the longest established orchestras in New Zealand. By providing performance opportunities for experienced local musicians and younger players, including talented graduates from the Music Department of the University of Waikato we enhance and contribute to the cultural identity of the region.
