Scott Sheetmetal Heating Ltd, trading as Rivet has been in business since December 1991. Initially formed by Dave, Steve and Grant Scott the combined trade backgrounds of Sheetmetal fabricator, Electrician and Builder provided a solid trade base to build the business on. The business operated as a Sheetmetal engineering and HVAC heating division up until 2005. Key strategy was to put in place an independent board of directors to provide sound governance and establish a strategy that was sustainable with the clear objectives and goals. Our short term and long term goals of the business are very specific, with growth and innovative products being our primary direction.
Our customers vary similar to our work however many have been with us in our entirety or since they started in Business. Some of our regular clients but not limited to are Shell Todd, Robert Bosch Ltd, NPDC, Clelands Construction, Methanex, Transpower, Fletcher's, Western Switchgear, Haden, Taranaki DHB, Fitzroy Engineering, Rowson Joinery, Elite Kitchens, Vogue Kitchens, Port Taranaki, Sopers, Taranaki Sawmills, OMV. We have used rivet on many occasions in the past for the manufacture of stainless and galvinised sheetmetal ducting and also extract hoods for kitchens. I have known Steve Scott as a director of Rivet for over 15 years I have had the opportunity to work with Rivet on a variety of projects throughout Taranaki and the North Island. We are proud to use Rivet for all stainless steel bench tops toe kicks required for our kitchen joinery business. Our current work type consists mainly of one off and small production runs of switchboard cabinets, sink benches, hoods, handrails, process equipment, commercial ducting for heating and ventilation and repairs. Our current structure has been put in place to allow for future expansion with floor personal being groomed to foreman status as and when required. All of our trades and technical staff have Sheetmetal trade qualifications with the exception of our Yr 2 and 3 apprentices who are currently working towards their qualification.
