Parentline Charitable Trust is committed to meeting its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and in our vision through advocacy, consultation and collaboration with Maori stakeholders, professional training and responsiveness, appropriate service delivery and evidence based practice. Inclusion of M ori participation to ensure equality of opportunity and outcomes to tamariki, mokopuna and whanau. Parentline’s Operational Response To ensure the needs and aspirations of M ori are reflected in the development, planning and delivery of Parentline services, policies and practices.
To build internal capabilities and knowledge and thereby capacity to enhance and increase staff responsiveness to M ori. Sue Hardley is CEO of Parentline Charitable Trust where she oversees the agency’s child advocacy team in Hamilton and the wider Waikato Area. From 2007 to 2015 Hardley was Waikato Area Manager for Plunket driving innovative practice across the clinical and community services teams. Hardley was the proud recipient, along with the Community Services Leader and Parenting Education Facilitator and on behalf of the staff and volunteers of Waikato Plunket, of the 2010 Eyebright Award for Innovation presented at the Beehive by Prime Minister John Key. During her time with Plunket, and with a passion for New Zealand’s unique cultural heritage, Hardley drove an initiative introducing Whakatipu Ririki Maori Parenting Programme to Waikato Plunket parents. With qualifications in Strategic Leadership, Planning and Evaluation, her passion is for continuing quality improvement which led her to train as a Quality Reviewer with Te Wana Trust.
Hardley is pragmatic, focusses on reducing inequalities and looks for common ground Ruth Rhodes, Waikato DHB Planning and Funding 2015. Parentline was established in 1978 as a telephone service where parents and caregivers could ring in for advice on parenting and child rearing. Over the years, the agency has evolved so that today Parentline offers individual and group counselling, therapy and social work services to children aged between years who have been traumatised by abuse and domestic violence. Parenting programmes are also available for the parents of children being seen at Parentline as are opportunities for family therapy to strengthen the family unit.
The organisation is governed by a Board of eight Trustees that sets the vision and strategic direction for the organisation. Conference Room capacity for 70 people ability to split the room in two Training Room 1. Plenty of car parking capacity for 30 cars Pak N Save car park next door
