We provide staff with professional learning opportunities, paid staff meeting time and paid planning time to ensure teachers’ knowledge, skills and actions are current and provide best possible learning outcomes for children. Teachers are responsible for supporting and documenting the learning and development for a key group of children. A medical certificate may be required stating that the child does not have a contagious illness prior to returning to the centre.
If a child is found to have head lice the Parent caregiver will be phoned and asked to take the child from the centre for treatment. The Manager may require a medical certificate before any person with an infectious disease or illness is allowed back into the centre. We believe that the importance of play as a vehicle for learning is respected and valued. Children will have fun and develop a love of learning through our Educational Programme.
Management will provide a place where open communication is encouraged and valued. Children are given responsibility in group situations and are encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. Children are provided with experiences in which they can choose their own learning journey in an interesting, challenging environment, alongside teachers who support them to extend their learning. Midcity values community relationships, as well as technology and innovation and its use within the centre.
As members of the Midcity community, employees and parents need to be aware of their responsibilities to the centre when using social media.
