After 2 years as a Dental House Surgeon at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand , Brian spent 2 years as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Basingstoke District Hospital and The Royal Berkshire Hospital in The UK. He completed MDS OMS University of Otago in 1990 and was a Senior Registrar in Auckland in 1991 and at Waikato Hospital in 1992. Brian also travels to Rotorua once a month offering consultations and surgical appointments. We have a state of the art practice with all the equipment to provide a complete service to our patients and with four surgeons in the practice we are able to provide a full emergency cover for our referring practitioners. Our team are experts in their fields, treating conditions, defects, injuries, and aesthetic aspects of the mouth, jaws, teeth and face.
Angus Colquhoun is a specialist oral and maxillofacial Surgeon with Anglesea OMS Ltd in Hamilton. He also holds a part time consultant position in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Waikato Hospital. Simon practices the full scope of Oral Maxillofacial surgery including oncology surgery, salivary gland surgery, orthognathic surgery, craniofacial trauma as well as dental implants and dentoalveolar surgery. He currently works part time as a Consultant in Oral Maxillofacial surgery at Waikato Hospital and consults privately at Anglesea OMS and operates at Braemar Hospital.
Dr Angus Colquhoun is a specialist oral and maxillofacial Surgeon with Anglesea OMS Ltd in Hamilton. He also holds a part time consultant position in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Waikato Hospital. He has several publications in peer reviewed journals both in New Zealand and internationally. He is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Simon was born in Hong Kong and emigrated to Hamilton, New Zealand, when he was three years of age. He attended Glenview Primary School, Melville Intermediate and then Melville High School. As a student, he played age group representative tennis and hockey, and played provincial representative hockey for Waikato and Otago. After graduating BDS from the University of Otago, Simon worked two years as a house surgeon in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Auckland at Middlemore Hospital, and one year as a dental registrar. Simon returned to New Zealand in 199 and graduated MBChB and MDS OMS in 2003, and passed the FRACDS OMS specialist examination in 2006, having spent that year as an advanced surgical trainee at Waikato Hospital.
Having passed his final examinations, he moved back to the UK to undertake advanced training in head and neck oncology surgery and most recently, Simon was employed as a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon with a special interest in head and neck oncology surgery at the Royal Derby Hospital, Derbyshire, England. Simon practices the full scope of Oral Maxillofacial surgery including oncology surgery, salivary gland surgery, orthognathic surgery, craniofacial trauma as well as dental implants and dentoalveolar surgery. He currently works part time as a Consultant in Oral Maxillofacial surgery at Waikato Hospital and consults privately at Anglesea OMS and operates at Braemar Hospital
He practiced there for 12 years until he was persuaded to shift to Anglesea Clinic by the late John Sullivan. We have a state of the art practice with all the equipment to provide a complete service to our patients and with four surgeons in the practice we are able to provide a full emergency cover for our referring practitioners.
